I've noticed that bodybuilding conversations often focus heavily on results & not enough on staying healthy while pursuing them. Things like blood pressure, cholesterol, blood counts, liver & kidney markers and mental wellbeing can all be worth monitoring especially when someone is using performance-enhancing drugs or other compounds & for me the biggest shift was realizing that i feel fine isn't a proper health check. Regular medical monitoring sensible training, good nutrition, sleep, hydration & knowing when to stop & speak with a professional all matter. What health or safety habit did you start taking more seriously?
Nutrition became a bigger part of my safety routine too I stopped treating food as only a way to gain muscle nd started thinking about overall health. More balanced meals enough fiber hydration nd regular cardio made sense alongside lifting. You want the physiquebut you also want your health to support it.
The biggest lesson for me is knowing when not to push through something. If blood pressure, blood work, mood or other health markers aren't right that's not something to simply ignore for another PR. Getting professional advice early is much better than waiting until a small issue becomes a serious one. Bodybuilding should be something you can enjoy for years not just for one cycle.
I think looking at trends is much more useful than worrying about one random result.
Keeping records of blood work and general health markers helped me see changes over time. If something looks abnormal I'd rather discuss it with a doctor than try to fix it from forum advice. That's been a much safer approach for me.

Blood pressure was the one I completely overlooked before. It's such a simple thing to monitor but people can ignore it because they feel perfectly normal. I also started paying closer attention to sleep and stress. Those things tell you a lot about how well you're actually recovering.
Getting regular blood work changed my whole perspective i used to judge everything by how i looked and performed in the gym. Sseeing actual health markers made me much more aware of what was happening internally.
Now I care about long-term health just as much as progress.
