Diet is fundamental! I focus on a whole-food, anti-inflammatory diet: plenty of fruits, vegetables, fatty fish (Omega-3s!), and healthy fats like olive oil and avocados. I significantly reduce processed foods, refined sugars, and excessive omega-6 oils, which can be pro-inflammatory.
An anti-inflammatory diet can be incredibly impactful. Chronic low-grade inflammation often stems from diet. I encourage patients to explore the Mediterranean diet, which is rich in anti-inflammatory compounds. Spices like ginger and turmeric are also great additions.
I notice a huge difference when I cut down on junk food and stick to cleaner eating. Less overall puffiness and soreness. It's not just about macros for me anymore; it's about the quality of food and how it affects my recovery and joints.
