Anybody Else Feel Stronger After Adding More Carbs?
I bumped my carbs up over the last couple of weeks and my workouts have felt completely different. Better pumps, more energy, and recovery seems better too. Wondering if anyone else noticed the same thing or if it's just in my head.

100%. More carbs = better training for me. 😂

I notice it most on leg days. If I’m properly fueled beforehand, I can push through the whole session without feeling completely cooked halfway in.

Same here. I don’t even need a huge increase. Just adding some extra rice or potatoes to a couple meals makes a pretty noticeable difference in how I feel in the gym.

I used to blame bad workouts on lack of motivation when I was probably just under-eating. 😂 Once I started paying attention to carbs and total calories, my energy got a lot more consistent.

Pumps are definitely better for me with higher carbs, especially if I’m training later in the day. There’s a noticeable difference between being properly fueled and walking in half-empty.
Re: Anybody Else Feel Stronger After Adding More Carbs?
For sure. I’m not saying carbs are some magic muscle-building cheat code, but if you’re training hard and not eating enough, eventually that shit catches up with you.
Re: Anybody Else Feel Stronger After Adding More Carbs?
I’ve noticed something similar, but I think people sometimes overlook the obvious part if you increase carbs, you're often increasing overall food intake too. That alone can make a big difference in energy and recovery.
Re: Anybody Else Feel Stronger After Adding More Carbs?
I’m a big fan of putting more of my carbs around training. Doesn't have to be anything fancy either. A normal meal with rice, potatoes, oats, whatever works and I feel much better than when I try to train on fumes.
Re: Anybody Else Feel Stronger After Adding More Carbs?
Yeah, that’s pretty much what I’m realizing. 😂 I didn’t suddenly change my whole diet just gave myself more fuel and stopped trying to keep carbs unnecessarily low. My workouts have been noticeably better, so I’m gonna stick with it for a while and see how consistent the difference is.
