The Basics Still Work
After all the new training trends the fundamentals haven't disappeared resistance training consistently improves strength and muscle growth while research shows that different loading strategies can produce hypertrophy when training is appropriately structured for me still the biggest difference isn't whether someone uses push/pull/legs or upper/lower or full body it's whether they're actually progressing like More reps? More load?better technique?More quality work over time? you don't need the fanciest split in the gym if you're not consistently improving your training performance.

Man I learned this after switching programs way too often sticking with one setup long enough to actually measure progress worked much better for me.
Re: The Basics Still Work
Keeping a training log helped me a lot and I started noticing improvements that I would’ve completely missed from memory alone🙌🏻
Re: The Basics Still Work
For me better technique became a form of progression too. Some lifts improved even when the weight stayed the same.
Re: The Basics Still Work
I’ve also found that consistency beats motivation the routine I can follow every week is usually the one that gets results.
Re: The Basics Still Work
Recovery is part of the equation too sometimes the best decision I made was giving myself enough time to come back stronger.
