Turns Out I Don’t Need to Squat Heavy as Hell Every Leg Day 😂

I backed the weight down a bit and started focusing more on clean reps, and honestly my legs are still getting smoked. The biggest difference is my knees don’t feel like they got run over afterward. 😂 Kinda makes me wonder why I was so obsessed with adding weight every damn week.

Man, I learned this one the hard way. 😂 Ego doesn't care about your knees, that's for sure.

Same here. I dropped the weight and started controlling the descent more instead of just bombing into the hole. My legs actually feel more worked afterward, weirdly enough.

There’s something to be said for leaving the gym feeling like you trained hard instead of feeling like you need a damn knee replacement. 😂

That’s exactly what I’m noticing. I used to think a good leg day meant moving the most weight possible. Now I’m more interested in actually feeling the target muscles working and being able to walk normally the next day. 😂

I rotate between squats, hack squats, and leg press depending on how everything feels that week. No reason to force one movement when another lets me train hard without beating myself up.

The slow eccentric made a huge difference for me. You can make a pretty modest weight feel brutal when you actually control the damn thing instead of dropping it and praying your joints survive. 😂

Getting stronger doesn't always mean adding plates. Sometimes it’s cleaner reps, better depth, better control, or getting more quality work out of the same weight. Took me way too long to figure that out.

I think a lot of guys get caught up watching what the dude next to them is squatting. Then you're loading way more than you can control just because some random bro has three plates on the bar. 😂 Train your own damn workout and your knees will probably thank you.

For real. I’m starting to care way more about consistency than what the number on the bar says. If I can train legs hard, recover well, and come back next week without everything feeling beat up, that’s a much better win in my book.
