The current endurance research continues to support interval training as an effective way to improve VO2max but that doesn't mean every conditioning session needs to be brutal. A recent systematic review of 51 studies found that HIIT sprint intervals and repeated sprint training all improved VO2max in athletes that doesn't make steadystate cardio useless for us bodybuilders the sweet spot may be combining conditioning with resistance training without allowing cardio fatigue to interfere with lifting conditioning should support the physique and performance goal not compete with it I think people get into trouble when harder automatically becomes better.

Walking ended up being more useful for me than I expected It was easy to stay consistent with and didn’t feel like another hard workout I had to recover from.

Tracking my lifts helped me find the right balance & whenever my gym performance started slipping I knew I was probably asking too much from my recovery.💪
