This means consuming more calories than your body burns daily. This excess energy provides the building blocks and fuel needed for muscle protein synthesis.
A common recommendation is a surplus of 300-500 calories per day, depending on your metabolism and activity level. Too much, and you gain excessive fat; too little, and muscle growth stagnates.
