Early AM Fasted Training Still Making Progress?

I’ve been getting my lifts in first thing before work, usually on an empty stomach. Energy has actually been decent, but I keep wondering if training fasted is leaving some gains on the table. Anyone here been running fasted morning sessions for a while? How’s your strength, recovery and progress been?

I’ve done fasted mornings off and on. Never noticed a muscle loss issue, but I definitely have better sessions when I’m properly fueled.

I’m usually fasted just because of my schedule. Water, coffee, then straight to the gym. Works fine for me as long as I get a solid meal in afterward.

I think people stress the fasted part way too much. If you’re eating enough overall and hitting your protein, one empty-stomach workout isn’t gonna magically eat your muscle.

That’s honestly what I was wondering. I don’t feel weak during the workout, so maybe I’m overthinking the whole thing.

Depends what I’m training. Fasted push day? Easy. Fasted leg day? Hell nah 😂 I want some fuel before I start fighting for my life under the bar.

I did fasted training for months while working early shifts. Didn’t kill my gains. But once I switched to a small pre-workout meal, my strength definitely felt better.

For me it’s less about losing muscle and more about performance. If I’m hitting the same numbers and recovering well, I’m not gonna lose sleep over whether I ate 30 minutes beforehand.

Coffee + water + gym. That’s my whole 5 AM setup lol.
