Cutting and the hunger is wearing me down. What actually helps you stay full and sane in a deficit? The willpower side is harder than the training. Looking for practical tactics.

Volume and protein. High-protein, high-fibre, high-volume foods keep you physically full on fewer calories - lean meats, eggs, Greek yogurt, and mountains of vegetables. A huge low-calorie plate tricks the brain far better than small dense meals.

I've been eating small calorie-dense meals, which probably makes it worse.

That's the trap. Same calories as big bulky meals feels like half the food. Switch to volume and the hunger eases a lot.

Protect your sleep - being tired amplifies hunger and cravings and wrecks willpower. When I cut I'm stricter about bedtime than ever. Poor sleep is why people crack on a deficit.

Drink more water and have a coffee/tea when a craving hits - sometimes it's thirst or habit, not real hunger. And keep busy; boredom eating ruins cuts. A walk often kills a craving better than snacking does.

Diet breaks help too - a few days at maintenance every several weeks resets you mentally and physically. A cut doesn't have to be one unbroken slog. Planned breaks make the whole thing sustainable.

Volume food, more protein, guard sleep, water/coffee for cravings, stay busy, planned diet breaks. That's a real survival kit. Thank you, the mental side really is the battle.
