I aim for 3g combined EPA/DHA daily. Noticed a big difference in just general soreness. It's one of the few supplements with really solid science behind it for athletes.

What Nate said. It often means taking 3-4 capsules to hit that 2-3g mark, depending on the brand. Also, look for "triglyceride form" if you can, it's better absorbed than "ethyl ester" form. And keep 'em in the fridge, they can go rancid.

You have to ignore the "total fish oil" number and look at the *combined EPA and DHA* content. For general health, 1000mg (1g) of combined EPA/DHA is decent. For active inflammation/joint support, many studies use 2000-3000mg (2-3g) *combined*.

Okay, last supplement question for a bit! I'm sold on trying fish oil for general joint support. But the dosages are all over the place. What combined EPA/DHA amount should I be aiming for? 1000mg? 2000mg?
