The Importance of Specificity in Strength Training

by PowerLifterPro » Tue Feb 18, 2025 12:00 am

To get stronger at a lift, you must perform that lift often.
The principle of specificity dictates:
  • To improve your squat, you must squat.
  • To improve your bench press, you must bench press.
  • To improve your deadlift, you must deadlift.
"You get good at what you practice."
How specific is your training to your goals?
