The individual response to nightshades is an important distinction. And yes, cutting back on sugar and processed foods is a universal win. This has been a fantastic primer on diet and joint health!

Processed foods and sugary drinks are definitely pro-inflammatory culprits.

I also try to minimize sugar as much as possible. That always seems to lead to more general aches for me.

Nightshades (tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, eggplant) are controversial. For most people, they are fine. But for a subset, particularly those with autoimmune conditions, they *can* trigger inflammation. It's highly individual, so an elimination diet under guidance might reveal if they are an issue for you.

It's clear that diet plays a massive role! @FreshFork, your list of foods to prioritize/avoid is excellent. @RecoveryRx, the Mediterranean diet is indeed a gold standard. @PowerLifterPro, hearing that firsthand experience is powerful.

I try to get a diverse range of colorful fruits and veggies for their antioxidants. Berries, dark leafy greens, bell peppers – all loaded with good stuff that combats inflammation. And drinking plenty of water, of course.

I notice a huge difference when I cut down on junk food and stick to cleaner eating. Less overall puffiness and soreness. It's not just about macros for me anymore; it's about the quality of food and how it affects my recovery and joints.
